so, this does require you to use japanese printings of some cards, otherwise it won’t work at all.

turn 1, you play a swamp (沢)

turn 2, you play a mountain (山)

then, you tap both and you have a lot (沢山) of mana¹

or… that would be the case, but they actually use a different character that also means swamp (沼) in the japanese edition. probably for balance reasons to prevent rakdos from having too much access to ritual effects.↩
